‘Connecting handicrafts and embedded electronics. Researching on bio-leather at textile lab, Amsterdam.’
A design innovator, Nanditha has worked with artisans from all over India re-imagining products through slow, sustainable methods. She has explored hybrid creative contexts as a design strategist and magazine editor. She developed a prototype for a table loom that can be used by artisans, design students and enthusiasts to create swatches of the design. The table loom is portable and can fold like a laptop. The second stage of the project is to integrate electronics to the table loom so that it can interface with design softwares thereby reducing the design change and rigging time currently prevalent.
